Databases

The ADS Library brings together bibliographic records and e-prints for published and unpublished archaeological documents. It includes data from the following sources: OASIS, Digitised Journals and Monographs, Internet Archaeology, Publisher Feeds, Grey Literature Scanning Projects, Grey Literature from ADS Archives, British and Irish Archaeological Bibliography.

PsycINFO contains records of journal articles, book chapters, dissertations, and other materials in the field of psychology and related disciplines such as medicine, sociology, education, pharmacology, physiology, linguistics, and others. Searches can be limited to separate chronological subsets of the database (1806–1966; 1967–2009; 1987–2009).

CROSBI is the result of a joint initiative of the Ministry of Science, Education and Sports (MZOŠ) and the Ruđer Bošković Institute. It contains up-to-date bibliographic data on works published by Croatian scientists (in particular those produced within projects funded by the MZOŠ).

The most widely used multidisciplinary bibliographic database, it contains bibliographic records of works from more than 7,600 leading scholarly journals worldwide, as well as more than 2,000 books and conference proceedings. It includes seven sections: Agriculture, Biology and Environmental Sciences (AGRI), Clinical Medicine (CLIN), Engineering, Technology and Applied Sciences (TECH), Life Sciences (LIFE), Physical, Chemical and Earth Sciences (PHYS), Social and Behavioral Sciences (BEHA), and Arts and Humanities (ARTS).

The most important bibliographic database in the field of education (subject teaching methodology, pedagogy, learning, didactics, language teaching methodology, education, schooling, and upbringing).

Film & Television Literature Index with Full Text contains bibliographic records, abstracts, and full-text articles from scholarly and professional journals in the fields of film and television studies. It covers topics such as film, television, screenwriting, production, film history, and media studies. The database indexes more than 250 journals, 162 of which are peer-reviewed, and includes 111 full-text journals that are not available in any version of the Academic Search database. It also includes Variety film reviews dating back to 1914. Access is available until 30 May 2027.

A bibliographic database that indexes more than 690 journals, as well as books, reports, and conference proceedings in the following fields: librarianship, classification, cataloguing, bibliometrics, information retrieval, information management, and others.

ProQuest Social Science Premium Collection is a collection of databases (including bibliographic and full-text databases) covering a wide range of social science disciplines, including political science, public administration, sociology, social work, anthropology, criminology, linguistics, information science, and education. It includes key bibliographic databases such as IBSS, Sociological Abstracts, ERIC, LISA, LLBA, and Worldwide Political Science Abstracts. Together, these databases enable searching across abstracts and full-text journal articles, books, dissertations, and other scholarly materials.

PTSDpubs (formerly known as PILOTS) is a freely available, specialized bibliographic database produced by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. It is the world's largest electronic index for worldwide literature on PTSD and the psychological consequences of trauma.

Scopus is the largest bibliographic and citation database of selected scholarly literature (journals, conference proceedings, and books).

Web of Science (WoS) includes citation indexes: Arts & Humanities Citation Index (A&HCI), Social Sciences Citation Index (SSCI), Science Citation Index Expanded (SCI-EXPANDED), Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI), Conference Proceedings Citation Index (CPCI), and Book Citation Index, as well as the Current Contents databases and Journal Citation Reports.

InCites, by Clarivate, is a benchmarking and analytics tool that uses publication information to analyze productivity, impact, and collaborations as reflected in the literature indexed in the Web of Science Databases. It includes all academic disciplines, but is stronger and provides more narrow sub-field data for STEM fields. After registration and entering user credentials, InCites is available as an integrated platform within Web of Science.

To access InCites, it is necessary to create a user account or enter valid login credentials.

The Journal Citation Reports (JCR) by Clarivate is an annual, publisher-neutral tool used by academics, librarians, and researchers to evaluate and compare scholarly journals. It provides a comprehensive range of citation data and performance metrics to measure a journal's influence and impact within the global research ecosystem. It is published in two editions: JCR Science Edition (covering data from 5,900 journals in the natural, biomedical, and engineering sciences) and JCR Social Sciences Edition (covering data from 1,700 journals in the social sciences).

The ADS is the leading accredited digital repository for heritage data generated by UK-based fieldwork and research. It promotes good practice in the use of digital data in archaeology.

The Croatian Social Science Data Archive (CROSSDA) is a national infrastructure public service whose role is to ensure the long-term preservation and dissemination of social science research data. CROSSDA is committed to providing data management support for researchers during the entire lifecycle of the project, from hypothesis development and grant preparation to data collection and data analysis.

Croatiae auctores Latini (CroALa) is a digital collection of Latin texts written by authors from Croatia, as well as Latin texts by authors associated with Croatia. The collection includes works ranging from the Middle Ages to the modern period. Its aim is to enable digital research on the corpus of Croatian Neo-Latin literature.

The DiZbi.HAZU digital collection contains digitised materials from 14 scientific and museum-gallery units of the Academy, as well as its Central Library, and includes items in the following original formats: books, journals, theatre programmes, manuscripts, microfilms, sheet music, photographs, plaster casts, medals and plaques, works of art, architectural drawings and models, and video materials.

Access to selected e-books published by Brill in the fields of social sciences and humanities.

The University of Zagreb has subscribed to a selection of e-books from Cambridge University Press (the Cambridge Companions and Cambridge Histories series, as well as a range of other titles in the social sciences and humanities published between 2018 and 2022). Access is provided until 31 January 2023, with the possibility of permanent access to the most frequently used titles after the licence expires. The books are available in full text and can be downloaded and saved without restrictions.

The Emerald Insight platform provides access to more than 3,000 e-book titles in the field of social sciences. After the licence expires, all institutions included in the licence will retain permanent access rights to the most frequently used titles.

IEEE Xplore is a comprehensive collection of scholarly and technical content published by IEEE (the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) and partner institutions and societies. It includes some of the most important publications in electrical engineering, electronics, and computer science (journals, conference proceedings, books, and technical standards). The collection also includes e-books from MIT Press in the fields of computing and engineering.

JSTOR is a multidisciplinary digital archive of scholarly journals and books. Access is provided to the Arts & Sciences I–XV journal collections, as well as to numerous e-book titles.

A set of 9 e-books compiled by The Japan Foundation is intended for learning the Japanese language and developing communicative skills in Japanese for non-native speakers. The set includes textbooks and interactive work materials for different levels of language proficiency. The publisher is Sanshusha Publishing Co. from Tokyo, and access is provided via the Maruzen Bookstore website.

OpenEdition is a publishing platform for scholarly books and journals in the fields of the social sciences and humanities. It includes publications from numerous publishers worldwide, primarily European ones, and the majority of the content is in French. Most of the content is available in open access.

The Project MUSE collection includes a selection of open-access books and journals.

ProQuest Academic Complete is a foundational, multidisciplinary e-book subscription designed for universities and research institutions. It provides students and faculty with access to over 250,000 scholarly e-books across 10 core academic disciplines.

ProQuest databases provide access to a comprehensive collection of e-journals, e-books, video content, and other types of documents from numerous publishers across a broad range of academic disciplines.

Through funding for the scientific infrastructure of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences allocated to the Postgraduate Doctoral Programme in Art History, permanent access has been secured to a collection of 45 e-books published by Leo S. Olschki and L’Erma di Bretschneider on the Torrossa platform. The books are available for online reading and for download as PDF chapters. Due to digital rights management, downloaded files can only be opened in Adobe Acrobat Reader (not in web browsers such as Chrome or Firefox) and expire after 14 days. However, as the titles are held in the Library’s permanent collection, they can be accessed and downloaded again at any time.

Annual Reviews is a collection of journals providing peer-reviewed surveys of the latest research across the social sciences, humanities, natural sciences, as well as biomedical and health sciences. The content available covers the period from 2016 to 2020.

The collection includes four journals of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association: American Journal of Audiology, American Journal of Speech-Language Pathology, Journal of Speech, Language, and Hearing Research, and Language, Speech, and Hearing Services in Schools (LSHSS). All volumes are available from the beginning of publication through 2021. Access to these journals has been provided by the University of Zagreb Faculty of Education and Rehabilitation Sciences.

The Cambridge Journals collection includes more than 380 peer-reviewed scholarly journals covering a wide range of disciplines, including the social sciences and humanities. Content is available from 2015 to 2020, including subscriptions to selected titles prior to 2015.

Classics in the History of Psychology is a major online archive developed as an initiative to make historically significant texts from academic literature in the field of psychology and related disciplines available on the Web. It currently contains over 25 books and approximately 200 online articles and book chapters. It also includes links to more than 200 relevant works on other websites.

The De Gruyter collection includes more than 900 journals covering all fields of science.

HRČAK is a central portal that gathers Croatian scientific and professional journals offering open access to their papers. It contains more than 500 journals.

In keeping with NLM's legislative mandate to collect and preserve the biomedical literature, PMC is part of the NLM collection, which also includes NLM's extensive print and licensed electronic journal holdings and supports contemporary biomedical and health care research and practice as well as future scholarship.

The SAGE Premier collection provides access to over 1,100 journals covering the humanities and social sciences, biomedicine and health sciences, as well as engineering and the natural sciences. Coverage is available from 1999 onwards.

The Science journals are peer-reviewed publications in which researchers communicate novel findings. In addition to Science, the world’s leading journal for scientific news and commentary, the collection also includes five STEM journals: Science Advances, Science Signaling, Science Translational Medicine, Science Immunology, and Science Robotics.

ScienceDirect is an electronic journal collection published by Elsevier. The subscription has not been renewed since 2015, which means that access is currently restricted to older journal volumes (mainly from 1997 to 2010) and to open-access journals and articles.

SpringerLink provides web access to publications from Springer, Palgrave Macmillan, BioMed Central, Adis, and Apress. It includes more than 2,000 titles covering all scientific disciplines. Full-text content is available for volumes from 1997 onwards.

Taylor & Francis Subject Collections includes journals from three major imprints: Taylor & Francis, Routledge, and Psychology Press. It provides access to more than 2,200 journals across the social sciences and humanities, as well as the natural and technical sciences. In addition to current journal issues, access is also available to older volumes from 1997 onwards.

The Wiley Online Library collection includes journals published by Wiley across all fields of science. Access is available for volumes from 1997 onwards.

Academic Video Online is a collection of more than 62,000 videos covering a broad range of disciplines and subjects, including the arts, history, ethnology and anthropology, social sciences, psychology, language, and literature. The collection includes documentaries and feature films (with a particularly notable collection of silent films), interviews, performances, archival footage, ethnographic videos, lectures, educational videos, and other types of audiovisual content.

ProQuest databases provide access to a comprehensive collection of e-journals, e-books, video content, and other types of documents from numerous publishers across a broad range of academic disciplines.

A repository containing all undergraduate final theses and master’s theses submitted and defended in the Republic of Croatia.

ODRAZ is a collection that digitally aggregates, permanently stores, and provides open access to the research outputs of faculty staff and students. The repository may include undergraduate final papers and master’s theses, doctoral dissertations, scholarly and professional papers (before or after publication), books, teaching materials, and other types of content. The new repository was launched in October 2019 and contains newly added works. Older works can still be found in the legacy repository established by the Library in 2006.

The Repository of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Zagreb is a digital collection that aggregates all works authored by staff or students of the Faculty and produced as a result of its research and educational activities. These may include journal articles or conference proceedings, books or book chapters, theses, presentations, posters, manuscripts, reports, teaching materials, research data, multimedia and audiovisual materials, and other types of content.

The Open Test Archive is a free, open-access repository maintained by the Leibniz Institute for Psychology (ZPID). It provides researchers, educators, and clinicians with free access to hundreds of validated psychological and behavioral measurement instruments, scales, and questionnaires.

A multidisciplinary collection of full-text doctoral theses from UK universities. Not all theses are available yet. Most are free of charge, while some require payment.

ProQuest Dissertations & Theses Global (PQDT) is a database of doctoral dissertations and master's theses. It contains approximately 1.7 million full-text documents and 3.8 million abstracts.
